FILIPINO-CANADIANS MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD AT YORK UNIVERSITY

May 28, 2016 – 250 screaming high school students, celebrating their Filipino heritage at York University for Asian Heritage Month – Shirley is proud to have helped make that happen! Thank you Philip Kelly and York University for the invitation. Thank you as well to talented Filipino-Canadians Patrick Alcedo, Patrick de Belen, Jennilee Austria, Conely de Leon and Marissa Largo for sharing the stage, and for helping to inform and inspire Filipino-Canadian youth. Highlights from Shirley’s co-keynote address, and the rest of the Asian Heritage Month Roundtable, can be found in the Philippine Reporter and the INQUIRER.
